What to do with the first of the season Royal Gala Apples

Autumn is just around the corner ( although it definitely does not feel like with the recent hot weather the South West has been having!) which means apple season is almost upon us. The first apples of the season that have just arrived on South Bunbury Marketplace’s shelves are the Royal Gala’s - named for Queen Elizabeth II, after she declared her preference for them. And we have to agree with Her Royal Majesty, these fresh and crispy apples are pretty darn good!

Royal Gala’s have pale red and yellow skin with dense and juicy white flesh. They are sweet and aromatic which makes them perfect for pies, sauces and salads. We have rounded up some of our favourite recipes that are sure to get you inspired for the cooler months.
